Nerdism FTW!!

An awesome documentary about Street Art in LA.
Tierry, a “moviemaker” finds himself in France visiting his nephew, who is famous artist Space Invader.
He’s addicted to filming everything he does, so he goes on the road with his nephew in action and after
that he meets other artists and decides to make a documentary about street artist and their work.
A lot of artists like his idea and Tierry can tag along. Tierry even gets in contact with Banksy, one of
the “Gods” of street art. Banksy gets noticed by rich people who are buying his stuff for thousands of
dollars at auctions and Banksy wants to “defend” himself that it isn’t about the money. He asks Tierry
to release his documentary asap as proof.. but yeah….

I was sick for days, so I watched a lot of movies when I wasn’t asleep,
one of them being My sister’s keeper.

The story; parents with a sick daughter who ”make” another daughter
to act as a donor. The daughter (Anna) sues her parents cause she doesn’t want
to be only a donor, but her life back.
Very easy way to explain this movie, but I cannot tell you more about it.
Cameron Diaz playing a mother after all the preppy roles she’s played
in her career. Not very convincing, but she can play a hysterical woman.
Good part of Sofia Vassilieva, playing the dying Kate.
Alec Baldwin a weak role of lawyer.
The dramatic movie wasn’t that dramatic. The story of the lawsuit is very
weak, the story is more a life story about Kate than the story about Anna.
Another story about a dying young girl instead of the shocking story about
parents making another child just to save their dying child.

I thought without any cable plugged into my TV I could
use a new addiction to watch..Well I found it…’GLEE’.
The story: A teacher wants to start the Glee program again
at William McKinley High School. It’s an after school project
group with singing and dancing. It’s happy happy joy joy
with sugar and spice and everything nice! I started watching the
first season today and I’m already at episode 11..I’m hooked!

Julia Child and Julie Powell – both of whom wrote memoirs -
find their lives intertwined.
Though separated by time and space, both women are at loose ends…
until they discover that with the right combination of passion,
fearlessness and butter, anything is possible.
This is a nice summary from Columbia Pictures, I’m too tired to write
a summary now, but I wanted to make my “movies I’ve seen list” longer.
I’ve got the proof I don’t have anything to do except watching movies.

A real chick flick…I didn’t know Julia Child, but I wanted to shoot her once
and a while in the movie, she sounded just like Miss Bucket in “Keeping up
appearances” and I couldn’t take it anymore after a while. Assuming that
meryl Streep didn’t made up that voice to annoy people. I wasn’t that
impressed by Amy Adams. In my oppinion, she could better only
take part in movies like Enchanted, where she can play a sad, spoiled,
pathetic woman..But for a positive note in my review; the two stories
were nicely combined into one movie and with a whole plate of cup cakes
and a bunch of girlfriends is it not that bad.

George Simmons, a successfull comedian is sick.
The prognosis is; He’s got a year left to live.
At a comedy night George meets Ira, a young
comedian to be and George hires him to be his assistant.
Ira helps him to cope with his disease and becomes a good friend,
but also his best friend??

The movie isn’t that bad, but I thought it would
be more funny than it actually is…I find Laura/ Leslie Mann annoying…
The whole story line with Ira’s friends is useless in my opinion, it does not
contribute to the movie.

What to say about the movie Grown ups.
It should have been very hilarious with all the funny guys;
Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade and
Rob Schneider put together..Well it wasn’t..
It’s a movie about a group of guys reunited after their High school
basketball coach died. They celebrate the 4th of July weekend
together in a cottage with their wives and spoiled kids..
I don’t want to say more, my opinion says enough..
A family movie with a big moral attached to it..and for god sake
Steve Buscemi playing a dumb dude that isn’t funny at all!!

A Federale named Machete helps out immigrants
on a meeting point as one day a well dressed guy
comes up to him and offers him 150.000 dollar
in exchange to assassinate a senator who wants
to close the border between Mexico and America
with an electric fence..
Machete can’t say no and takes the deal, but
on the specific moment of assassination he
realises he’s being set up and flees not to
be gone and hide but to take gruesome revenge
for all the things been done to him..
..Muahahahahahahahahaha…..
Of course a farfetched movie, but you’ll laugh your
ass off!! Awesome “grind house” movie..

Paul Dano, Zooey Deschanel, John Goodman..
Brian Weathersby is a matress salesman and wants to
adopt a chinese baby for as long as he can remember.
There are a few “problems” He’s 28 years old and isn’t married,
those two things make it hard for him to be on a adoption list.
If that isn’t difficult enough to cope with, he also gets harassed
by a homeless guy who is stalking him..
One day a rich man comes in the matress store and buys a
14.000 dollar bed. His daughter will come over and pay for it
a day later. Brian falls in love with this “strange” girl that falls
asleep on one of the beds of the store..but a lot of drama is
involved…
My first impression was “a good Indie movie” but as the movie
continued I couldn’t understand what the whole homeless person
story line was put in the movie for…It didn’t have a connection what so
ever with the rest of the story. The end of the movie was abrupt as
if the budget of the movie was cut. My reaction….huh?…and not in
a psychological “I don’t get it, need to see the movie again” but in
a wtf? it was like someone turned off the tv while you’re watching
something…A big shame….

Will Ferrell plays a Palaeontologist called Rick Marshall,
with a theory about time travelling. Nobody believes him,
accept for a woman called Holly. Rick builts a time travel
machine thingy and with Holly and a trailer trash guy
called Stan gets sucked into a space time vortex…

Dinosaurs, creepy creatures and very nice enviroments
is what you get in this movie. A couple of funny pieces,
but not enough Will Ferrell humor, what I think is a shame,
being a huge fan..
The movie wasn’t that awesome, but nicely done with special
effects..A nice movie to spend your evening with.
